I don't know if there's an argument that the committee was "without standing," though.  By the same logic as congressional subpoenas: they're a tool for legislative use, even though they're routinely used for purposes NOT for legislation, but since Congress has unfettered right to legislative oversight...standing is what they say it is.

As long as they say "This special committee is for legislative purposes," pretty sure it has standing, and any argument to the contrary is met with "Shut up!  You don't get to tell us what to do!"

"without standing" is the favorite get of jail free card carried by all Supreme Court Justices, so they are in good company

You do understand that "standing" is a real legal concept that does, in fact, exist?

Ah, never mind.  Look who I'm talking to.

Happy Juneteenth everyone.  Thank God slavery ended.

"In all fairness, Budget rental trucks have more room in the back than most rental trucks, and even a small vent to allow some air in. You can clearly see they provided mattresses for their comfort. These traffickers obviously care a lot about their cargo, and delivering these kids to the Biden regime pedos with a positive user experience." - ATOP

Or it’s just people being incredibly stupid:

“According to police, inside the truck were two families, totaling eight people, including two juveniles. Contrary to the video’s implication, they were not tied up or in distress, police say.

The individuals appeared healthy and willingly spoke with officers, explaining that they were traveling from Alabama to Maryland for a new job opportunity. Their personal belongings were also in the truck.”

Or that’s a cover story

"Hi we have eight people needing to travel from Alabama to Maryland."

"Okay, would you like to rent a minivan, or one of our 12-passenger vans?"

"No, we'd prefer a panel truck."

Why, it's almost like clockwork.

All we need now is another mass shooting and the pre-debate party will be on like Donkey Kong.

It's like they have this in their back pocket - in case the debates go poorly for them, they will amp this up and the terror around it, dominating the news cycle. If the debate goes well for them, then it'll go away like East Palestine.

Or Israel circumstantially chooses to begin it's invasion of southern Lebanon, an escalation "requiring" the presence of the turnip in the Situation Room.

C'mon...we average three train derailments a day.

There's nothing suspicious about it.  About the coverage this gets, vs all the other uncovered derailments, maybe.  But not the event itself.

For clarity - that's what I mean. Not that it was caused intentionally for this purpose, but the media was primed with this story today so they can use it (if needed) to dominate the cycle later. Never let a crisis go to waste and all that.

I miss the good old days when a white woman went missing on Monday, and the media was set for the week.

I'm guessing they actually called the Canadian line by mistake.

"Hi we have eight people needing to travel from Alabama to Maryland."

"That's a lot of mouths to feed once you arrive. Have you considered heat stroke as an option to lessen your future burden?"

I was thinking more "But what's the problem?  It's how we entered the country!"

AND...they'll cover it as a result of Trump's deregulation of the industry.

That somehow Biden has been unable to reverse in almost four years, because Trump's a Nazi.
