Wind is a starting to gust out there...rain coming in. Tornados in Fort Lauderdale already, good thing we didn't evacuate there.

Phew huge tornado formed just east of us and ripped through Matlacha and Cape Coral

For those who don't know...I'm the technical lead for several of the FEMA aid programs.

 

Anyone impacted by either of the hurricanes, DM me.  I can give you some guidance on emergency grants.

Yeah we got our asses kicked pretty good again…still no power, just getting gas on the island. Bridge survived this time, they just had to pull a couple houses out of the road so we can go on and off the island. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday before game for power. @Fansince88 Trying to conserve battery on our phone. Just picked up a solar charger today from donated supplies should help til power comes back. Probably won’t be on til then, but we’re safe. Doing lots of cleanup of debris in the meantime. @mead107 @Augie

I never wanted to leave Sarasota for Atlanta. Now, after watching some videos from this storm season, I’m not sure how much I’d want to go back. They have never had a year like this (with 3 HUGE storm events) in at least 30 years. If our son and his family move back we will have some presence there, but not too close to the water.

Just got power back on, they were working all dayyy on the trees on lines and tipped poles. Couple of linemen were from Buffalo. Told them I need it on for the game, they came through bigly!

Side note: FEMA disaster assistance does provide for trauma counseling for disaster survivors.

 

Unfortunately, the 2024 Bills offense is not a qualified declared disaster.  Though I'm still holding out hope for the Pegula Sabers.
