Mayor Adams: It ain't fair, I tell ya!

It looks like the illegal “migrants” who have made their way to New York City – both at the invitation of New York’s mayor Eric “Sanctuary City” Adams and courtesy of bus rides to blue paradise from helpful Republican governors – have strained relations between the two most important elected officials in the state. They are busy casting aspersions at each other over their combined levels of incompetence.

</snip>

The governor sent a rip-roaring letter to Adams via her state lawyers that lays out everything the state has done so far to assist and mitigate the crisis the city pretty much brought on itself. It’s clinically thorough, while simultaneously leveling a broadside at the city administration aka Adams.

Biden quietly sells off border wall parts to thwart GOP push to use them

The Biden administration is quietly auctioning off millions of dollars’ worth of unused parts from former President Trump’s border wall for peanuts – in an apparent end-run around pending legislation in Congress.

Since April, GovPlanet, an online auction house specializing in military surplus, has sold 81 lots of steel “square structural tubes” — intended for use as vertical bollards in the border barrier’s 30-foot-tall panels — hauling in about $2 million.

On Tuesday, GovPlanet netted $154,200 for 729 of the 28-foot-tall hollow beams, sold in five separate lots for an average $212 apiece.

Thirteen more lots are set to be auctioned on Aug. 23 and Aug. 30.

But just last month, as part of its annual defense appropriations package, the Democrat-led Senate passed a Republican-sponsored bill aimed at forcing Biden to stem the worsening migrant crisis at the US-Mexico border by extending the wall.

SUNY Buffalo State booting migrants from dorms over student safety concerns, critic rips move as prejudiced

SUNY Buffalo State University is evicting 44 migrants from its dorms after parents raised concerns over student safety — but an asylum-seeker advocate claims the move smacks of prejudice.

Officials at the state university abruptly canceled an agreement with a local community group that placed dozens of migrants at the upstate school in May — citing parental worries in the wake of separate sex-assault charges against two migrants bused north from New York City, Buffalo News reported.

“As we are welcoming our students back to campus Tuesday, we wanted to ensure the best possible learning environment for our students and smooth functioning of our university operations,” interim school President Bonia Durand said in a statement, according to the outlet.

“I made the difficult decision to discontinue the revocable permit and want to reassure our university community that as our students return to campus Tuesday they will find their learning environment as they expected,” she said.

Poll: Voters unsettled by migrant crisis

Quote

The latest poll of New York voters indicates a majority of them don’t want to see more asylum-seekers come to the state, with many saying they believe that immigrants settled in New York over the last 20 years have been a burden, not a boon.

According to a Siena College Research Institute poll released Tuesday, 82% of respondents said they see the recent influx of migrants bused to New York from the southern border as a serious problem, and 45% said the migrants settled in the state over the last 20 years have been a burden. A majority, 58%, said they believe the state has already done enough and should do what it can to slow the flow of migrants into the state.

The woman who is running against him really needs how to figure out how to make a ... campaign issue... of Poloncarz anger issues.

Part of the problem of that statement is the semantic argument of what "disappeared" actually means.  Does it simply mean that the government doesn't know where the children are?  And do you really want to hand that responsibility over to the government?

That's not to deny child trafficking - I worked data collection for cases when I was at USCIS, I know child trafficking is happening (and I've read shit that would startle you).  And I've said repeatedly that illegal immigration facilitates this, through lack of documentation and status that makes illegal immigrants exploitable (effective, and sometimes literally, slavery.)

But there's a real "slippery slope" risk in a broad, ambiguous statement like Kennedy's, as well.  The devil really is in the details in this case.

It's basically the job description.

But it's the eagerness that gets me.  She really seems to be drinking the Kool-Aid.

Most of them are all in on the PR part, but smart and/or sly. She's neither.
