It's wild. I really like Zemeckis, the guy is a technical genius with the camera. So it doesn't surprise me that he'd tackle something like this at his stage (because it'll be all about the technology that I'm sure he's honed/refined/added to). But this is still a play in my eyes. Not a moving picture.

I'll still check it out.

Is that Peter Scolari in the Santa hat in the background of the third picture?

It is a good concept and you're right about it seeming like a play.

From the other end of the concept, what's the famous movie that contains no camera or scene breaks, it's like one continuous shoot. I could Google it, but I know you'll know it off the top of your head.

I laughed at first, thinking you were joking - then had to move to my computer and look at the image on the big screen just to double check because it does look like him :classic_laugh:

I think you mean 1917 that came out a few years ago - unless it was an earlier one.

Pretty sure it's Paul Bettany.

But the resemblance in the picture is uncanny.  :classic_laugh:

That couldn't have been a single take, not with the makeup job to make the soldier paler as he's bleeding out, or with the plane crash preceding it.

But they did a great job making it seem like a single shot.

As I recall, Birdman was unusual for being only 10-12 shots, which are some very long-duration shots.

I forgot about 1917, thanks. But I was thinking older, I had to search, it's Rope by Hitchcock, and it was a play that he adapted to film.

Can you imagine how bad she must smell right after that?  She just burned through half of the hairs on her head.  Think of how bad it smells to burn a few hairs; well multiply that by several thousand.

I dunno what's lamer.  That somebody thought a light sabre haircut would be cool, or after filming it that nobody realized how stupid it looks

Holy shit, this movie is a thing.

Posting here because...well, still better than The Acolyte.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11650674/

The coeds HAVE to spend 1/2 the movie topless, right?

If so, this movie has some potential.
