Judge in Trump’s hush money case delays date for ruling on presidential immunity

The judge in Donald Trump’s hush money trial is pushing back a date for a key ruling on presidential immunity until two days before Trump’s scheduled sentencing.

The immunity decision had been due Sept. 6, with the sentencing set for Sept. 18. But then Trump’s lawyers asked Judge Juan M. Merchan last week to rule first on their renewed bid to get the judge to step aside from the case.

In a letter made public Tuesday, Judge Juan M. Merchan postponed the immunity ruling to Sept. 16 — if it’s still needed after he decides next week whether to recuse himself.

Gee, wonder if Merchan is going to recuse himself.  Am on pins and needles waiting on that one.

NOT.  This man sees himself as doing God's work saving our nation from the ravages of a 45/47 abomination.  Can't see any way he recuses himself.

One wonders if he’s considered seppaku.

Trump to sue DOJ for $100M over Mar-a-Lago raid, alleging 'political persecution'
Trump attorney says 'unconstitutional' raid should never have been approved by Garland, Wray

Former President Donald Trump is set to sue the Justice Department for $100 million in damages over the government’s unprecedented 2022 raid on his Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida, with lawyers arguing it was done with "clear intent to engage in political persecution."

Fox News has obtained Trump’s memo claiming "tortious conduct by the United States against President Trump."

</snip>

"What President Trump is doing here is not just standing up for himself – he is standing up for all Americans who believe in the rule of law and believe that you should hold the government accountable when it wrongs you," Trump attorney Daniel Epstein told Fox Business' Lydia Hu.

It's not so much that Kamala is, as you say, "in the bag"

It's that the the ballots are "in the bag"

I'm afraid that the cheat will be so complex this time that the Democrats will not need to rely on the 3AM ballot dumps.

Not that your analysis is impossible (or unlikely) - but it results in war. Not just a little flare up, but the kind of sectarian fighting we saw in Bosnia back in the day (only x10). And they, the entire control structure - both national and international,  knows it. And I don't mean war is coming in a decade, or five years - but before 2026 is out. That's where we are. If the election is stolen (again), with this many jaundiced eyes watching it go down, the republic will not only be irreparably torn in pieces, the government and the government's "allies" will be in a shooting war with our friends, neighbors, and families by the first STOU of the Harris term.

It won't be started by MAGA, it'll be started by the government just to hide their crimes.

Don't get it twisted, this is the last chance to avoid that outcome. The media control Matrix has been broken, the evidence of this is everywhere. So we're looking at only one of two possibilities:

1) The media gaslighting is so nutty right know because they're in their death-throes. They KNOW they're going to lose, they know their only hope at avoiding the coming investigations and prosecutions by a Trump AG is to sow as much doubt as possible in the mind of the public to color upcoming grand jury pools.

OR

2) You're right, the republic is dead, and the bodies will be piling up before the turn of the decade.

There's no other outcome at this point. One's a black pill, the other is hope.

I choose hope.

If Kamala is elected (note: I didn't say wins), it won't be war.  It'll be reeducation camps for "MAGA" Republicans, and arrests of anyone who denies her election.

If Trump is elected (note: I also didn't say "wins")...it'll be war.

Ultimately...no one's winning.  The republic is dead.

and there won't be a war. who the hell is going to fight it? who's going to jeopardize their family, their lives, their homes?

the best thing the GOP can do is get to the young people - and young people are watching. they're not going to be conservatives but they will be more likely to be GOP. go watch social media. younger people are out there and fighting back against the promiscuity and over indulgence.

gen alpha is going to be very impressive.

I love ya, but this is a small brain take, Boyst.

We saw what happened Jan 6th - that wasn't people trying to "jeopardize" their families - but they were targeted, persecuted, and slain all the same. That was just a warm up to what will happen.

Who is going to fight it isn't the People, it's the Gov't that's going to start it before the People can. War is the best way to increase their power over us, we've seen them do it time and time again. Saying they won't do it now, when everything they've worked for is on the line, is Tua stan level ignorance.

And, I'd argue, sitting back and doing nothing while neofascists and communists complete their takeover of the last bastion of freedom on the planet is jeopardizing your family, life, and home more than standing up against it.

Grow a sack. You're going to need it in the months ahead.

That's what they want us to think. That's what they're banking on people thinking.

But it's not true. It's not dead until we give up on it.

The thing is...these things happen throughout history, through different countries.  And they nearly always follow the same pattern, and rarely diverge.

And we're at the point in that pattern where the extremist party takes over and silences the opposition one way or another.  Ironically, justified in modern times because the "historical dialectic" demands it.

I trust the systemic forces at work.  They're historically consistent, and immutable.

I don't disagree - and it always, always, ends in war and the loss of life.

There's still a chance to stave that off for another few generations - but not if we let them steal it again.
