Correct me if I'm wrong but that seems like an awful lot of words to just say people like their free sh1t enough to willingly give up some of their liberty :classic_biggrin:

Modern liberalism, or progressive if you will, is nothing like classic liberalism which was all about freedom, civil liberties,  limited government and free market. One would in fact be absolutely correct if they argue modern liberalism is the direct opposite of what it once was as it is now more based on free sh1t at the cost of bigger government with more control over every aspect of our lives.

So I think it is for this reason so many people have become comfortable in their current existence enough that they fear anyone they perceive, or are told might take it away. Even willingly giving up even more of that liberty to the government that promises they will protect that comfort from those bad people that want to take it away. And that unfortunately also includes anyone that might challenge beliefs they have become ingrained with to the extent it causes them such mental anguish that it actually bring physical pain. These my friend, are symptoms of recovery from those who are so wrapped in that belief that most would call it brainwashed

Okay, I'll correct you, though briefly. The freedom I am talking about is metaphysical and tied to ontological flourishing. Differing polities may subvert or thwart liberty of that kind, but for certain, it has nothing to do with folk habituated to "free stuff" from the State. How you got that from my words I cannot fathom.

Classical freedom (as exemplified by Athens): freedom is the power to enact legislation and determine the ethos of one's society. This is a freedom for . . .

Modern freedom (after volunatarism, nominalism, Kant, and Rousseau): freedom is the capacity to do what you will without external constraints. This is freedom from . . .

Maybe the American polity tried to blend the two, but it is an uneasy mix. Classical liberalism is still largely modern freedom. Personally, I think it is insufficient.

I can't wait for my progressive relatives to scream about how this platform bans abortion and enslaves minorities.

Heck, I wonder what's the holdup since literally every other blind liberal has already been claiming that though mostly about Project 2025

LMAO. Like Joe is going to carry his own bag. You just can't make this shit up.

That's what he has a team for.

Somebody can carry his bag.  Somebody else can put the ball on the tee.  Somebody else to tee off, another to handle sand traps, and specialist to take care of putting

It's ludicrous to think Trump can beat Biden and his team at golf

Hilarious in that they don't know what to do, and Democrats are always so unified. Heck, even on that no brainer vote yesterday against illegals voting in federal elections only 5 went against the party.

But this?  They seem to have no idea what to do.

H.R.2202 - Immigration Control and Financial Responsibility Act of 1996
104th Congress (1995-1996)

Amends Federal criminal law to provide for exclusion and deportation of an alien who has illegally voted.

DACA's already established that this amendment can and will be ignored at will by federal prosecutors.

Which is something that shouldn't stand up under the SCOTUS Chevron Doctrine decision...but it would take a year or more to legislate that.

And come to think of it, DACA shouldn't stand under the Chevron Doctrine decision either.

We ran North Carolina's Active Voter registration list through our TITAN system:

Registered to a Commercial Address: 292

Missing Apartment or Suite no.: 83,027

Permanently moved out of County: 70,039

Permanently moved out of State: 91,264

Moved but left no forwarding address: 28,157

Primary address is not valid: 159,520

432,299

There are more, different issues - but you get the point.

North Carolina's statewide voter list is foul.

I read this elsewhere...

The fun part is that this is the political Super Bowl, the Two Minute Warning just sounded, and all of the coaches and players for the side that’s behind are having a huge brawl on the sidelines, while the other team points and laughs.

Except it's the 2 minute warning for the end of the 1st half, not the game.  There's still plenty of time for the guys in the lead to pull a Falcons.
