If I'm Trump's campaign manager, I tell him - hell, force him - to do two things:

 

1) Keep his ear bandaged at least until his first public statement at the convention.  And lead off with "Sorry about this bandage, but I was injured when I was startled by a loud noise."  

 

2) Start his acceptance speech, and every speech thereafter, with "First, a moment of silence for the people killed in the assassination attempt against me."

 

And if Trump donates to help out the victims and their families...I quietly leak that, of course.
