In the long run having 4 more years of OMB (orange man bad) to chase after to show the evils of the Republicans, attempt to get a midterm Democratic push for House and Senate, build a bench for the 2028 campaign with a Senate and house under their control.... That's the smart play.

 

Vance will not be a good candidate for Prez and if he wins VP he would likely be the GOP pick elsewise lots of infighting- the Dems know this.

 

Trump has to win, the House must stay GOP, and the Senate can do whatever.
