Wife is retired now. I am at work... She heard tapping on front door. Opens it.  Look what the neighbors behind us moved up into! NOT just roosters, hens, & ducks anymore! 

 

AND people think The Jehovah's are annoying!

Now? Always been invasive mussels. The Illinois River has been wiped out of its native mussels for decades now. Historically Illinois River mussels were harvested ground up and used in the cultured pearl industry, etc... Zebra mussels FROM the Great Lakes began to take that out 40 Yeats ago.

 

In the past 60 years, +100 invasive species have entered the Great Lakes & Mississippi River via the St.Lawrence.

 

Now on the other direction via the Mississippi TO the Great Lakes, one species and even that is debatable (Asian carp).

 

I think I handled my watch well! If it was up to me, I would pump nitrogen into a 2 mile long dead zone and nothing would get through either way. Cheap & effective.  Just like old days, but try getting around the "Clean Water Act."

 

One simple solution, the water is too clean, make it dirty again.

Today... Had to chase them off with a snow shovel in order to open front door. /smdh

 

The hen (jenny?) can get agressive!  She'll peck you. The gobbler, seems chill, but they crap like small dogs!

So we're not adopting the cat - neighbors are idiots, refused to hand her over.  And even though they let her wander the neighborhood, we can't catch her on any schedule that lets us get her to the vet.  So she's walking around, howling her fool head off because she's in heat, unspayed...

 

...and unvaccinated, because the neighbors are REAL idiots.  And there was a case of rabies reported in the county Monday - a rabid cat attacked two people north of here.  

 

So now I've got the neighbor's cat roaming the neighborhood, unvaccinated, with a rabies alert for the county.  And this cat is very friendly...so you won't know if she's approaching you because she's social, or because she's rabid, until she actually bites the shit out of you.  

 

&#%$ing idiot neighbors.    Their kids are going to die of rabies.
