Pretty sure this is not allowed. Will anything happen to her?

“Truth to power” is the most nauseating three word phrase in the language.  Why?  Because the people who use it tend to be completely full of shit and also powerful.  Two lies in three words.

If political violence is OK, then *political violence is OK*.

We can’t, in one breath, condemn assassination attempts; and in the next, advocate “cracking skulls”.

I’d also caution, that once we’ve crossed that particular Rubicon, there’s nowhere to “go away and be a peaceful man, and raise your family”.

Be careful what you wish for, sir.

Careful up there.  That horse is pretty high.

There was an actual assassination attempt that missed by fractions of an inch and killed a real person.  IMO that is well worthy of condemnation or something stronger.  Disdain, revulsion, horror?  I’m not sure of the best word.  This does not seem to be in dispute.

How it compares to a guy on a message board who is clearly voicing an opinion that rioters need to be met with physical consequences, I’m not sure.  I have not seen anyone saying they advocate police walking amidst peaceful protesters indiscriminately assaulting them.  Protest is a protected right and burning a flag has been adjudicated to fall under that umbrella.

Stealing a flag that belongs to someone else and burning that one?  Doubt it.

Replacing the stolen flag with that of a foreign entity?  Pretty sure that’s a no.

Vandalizing monuments and other public property?  Nah.

Perhaps in fantasy land the police could give these folks some carnations and politely ask them to abide by the laws of legal protest.  In 2024 however authorities are met with violence, destruction and fire including physical harm to themselves.  Riots are different than protests and I’ve yet to see a riot broken up by home baked cookies and a quiet chat.

I understand, and I completely agree. But let's be honest. Hoping one day this is all going to change is NOT taking us in a different direction. Parts of our country are starting to look like the first 5 minutes of "Demolition Man." How much longer before what I see on TV actually DOES make it my peaceful home and safe family? Feels like we're maybe a generation away from not having our country anymore. Maybe two.

We sit at home in our safe little spaces and watch people tear down our country's flags and replace them with THEIR flags, destroy our cities and history, burn buildings, loot stores with no consequences, murder and rape innocent people, and essentially nothing happens to any of these people. We just have to sit and take it.

Unless they make skid marks on a Pride flag. Then it's off to prison.

The only difference between my path of cracking skulls and your path of not cracking skulls is one of them gets us to the same place a little faster, and I get to fight back instead of hoping one day things will get better.

I'm too old to fight anymore, but we both know neither your way nor my way is going to stop what's coming.

By all means, feel free to engage in violence.

Grab a bat, and go crack your skulls.

Me? I’m content to let all of the cities burn.

I don’t own them, and I have no stake in them.

It seems to me that the sizable portion of the folks who *do* live there, have decided that their preferences are to put individuals into power who wish to allow these things to happen. So good for them.

But again, that’s *my* preference.

If yours is to engage in political violence, go do you.

Oh, I had no idea this is what Israel was doing in Gaza.

My bad.

Case in point. No accountability. Free to do it again today, with more fervor since they understand there will be no consequences.

Back to your bullshit I see.  I don’t advocate cracking skulls.  I did not do so in what I wrote.  I don’t want to put words in ID’s mouth but I don’t think that is what he meant in a literal sense either.  I’ll let him speak to that.

This portion of the thread reminds me of when earlier in the thread where you accused several people of supporting genocide.  I put together a long answer to a question you posed, you acknowledged it, said you’d reply and disappeared.  Now you’re back looking down on everyone again.  Maybe on the 12th we can all be as wonderful as you.

Your preference is your preference.  I find it odd but hey it’s your choice I guess to prefer cities burn.  Maybe you think it will be isolated.  Maybe you have no regard for future generations.  I’m not sure really but I don’t need to understand so you needn’t explain it.

Not even billing them for the cleanup, this is pure bullshit ad I bet if we followed the money that supported the rioters it would lead to Soros et-all

Whenever I've tracked the money for these protests, it always goes back to some "international socialism" group.  Always.

I'm willing to bet Bibi useful idiot comment was directed more at her than the rioters outside

But he didn't say "useless idiot."

Methinks this is weird for her to go against "The Squad" and probably assure Trump wins Minnesota and Michigan now with the statement

I'm guessing it's related to an escalation with Hezbollah:
