Welp

If they had managed to get productivity out of him, that would have been wizardly, but Claypool has been a turd and a half for the last 1.5 seasons.

Really hoping Claypool is focused and puts his best foot forward now that he is playing with a top 5 QB and a team with recent playoff mojo. He was really good with Big Ben and the culture at Pittsburgh. McDermott and the Bills locker room will probably be most like Tomlin and the Steelers culture he has been with since.

Josh is the most Big Ben like QB Claypool has played with since. It would be a real pleasant surprise to see him become 'Mapletron' again. 60-850-5 would go a long way to help this WR corps, and that is in line with what he did as a #2 in Pittsburgh.

Having Coleman at 6'4 - 215 and Claypool at 6'4 - 200 on the outside would be a big (pun intended) target style difference for JA from the smurfs he has been throwing to in Diggs/ Brown (and Beasley). Add in Kincaid 6-4 240 and we could have the Towers of Power.

Whelp so much for that hope....  😅😅😅

Um Jeremy, check your source, he walked off the field last night.

He was carted off from the sidelines to the locker room (there is video in the game thread).

Neck sprain is what I read.

Ok. I just saw the cart out on the field and watched him walk off. Didn't see the rest of the story.

MVS (and Trubisky and Morris) are out multiple weeks now.

Wasn't Claypool's problem turf toe too? Could there be a problem with the turf at SJF or the practice facility at OP ???

Spartacus

for all those double dippers out there pining for Troy Franklin

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5714599/2024/08/21/scoop-city-would-dak-leave-for-60-million/?source=dailyemail&campaign=601983&userId=3253079

On the opposite end, some players are notable for their poor start. That’s the case for:

  • Broncos WR Troy Franklin. As Nick Kosmider explains in his Broncos stock report, it’s been rough. “Franklin has run 24 routes across two preseason games, according to TruMedia, and he’s only been targeted once. He hasn’t caught a pass.” If they hadn’t traded up for him (remember he’s Bo Nix’s former college teammate), he would likely be on the roster bubble. Yikes.

Targets is key

Dorsey offense had a huge percentage of the 1st reads to Diggs

People say he drew coverage from the other WRs

this is true -

but also problematic. because those other WRs did not need to be covered much as the 1st read targets were all going to Diggs. Made it pretty easy on the D

Design an offense where the coverage dictates where the ball goes, and double coverage becomes ineffective becasue there is no prime 1st read target

Since all of the Bills WRs now have good hands, spreading the ball to where the coverage dictates will be surprisingly productive and efficient.

Probably to balance out Tyler Bass and his stupid eye black.

does he use either?

Diggs always had his hanging from his helmet, never in his mouth
