Gotta admit, Dems did a great job today getting the Trump assassination attempt out of the discussions for the rest of the election.

It won't work imo.

The botched Trump assassination permeated world wide - nationally in groups who don't watch the news. Those people usually don't vote. They're not going to lose focus because Biden dropped out - unless the story becomes about it being a coup and the bickering ongoing inside the party between the progressive side and the "centrists"/big-moneyed donors.

But if the story becomes about that, which it will because it's going to get worse during the convention, then Trump's camp would welcome it.

I'm hoping a week of hearings about the assassination attempt will keep it in the news. Assuming the media outlets cover it.

But with the Clintons backing Kamala and the Obama's NOT backing her, their shitshow is going to get a lot of attention in the weeks to come. At least until they are unburdened by what was not, in the passage of time, which is the time when it passes.

Ninety-4

There's nothing like a congressional hearing to affirm the advanced age and idiocy of Washington pols.

Which is interesting, because Knight was in no way at fault.  The sort of threat Hinckley posed is almost impossible to defend against.

But Cheatle is somehow pretending everyone in this case did their jobs.  (Which, btw, are the emails I'm seeing from Mayorkas at work.  "We know your job is difficult, but great job, everyone!")

She's done.  This is the same sort of "non-testimony" testimony that sunk Archuleta.
