All indications now are that the Provincetown outbreak investigation is among the pieces of new evidence behind the CDC's decision to ask Americans to once again put on their masks indoors, even if they are vaccinated.

 

As of Thursday, 882 people were tied to the Provincetown outbreak. Among those living in Massachusetts, 74% of them were fully immunized, yet officials said the vast majority were also reporting symptoms. Seven people were reported hospitalized.

 

"Information on the delta variants from several states and other countries, indicate that in rare occasion some vaccinated people infected with a delta variant after vaccination may be contagious and spread the virus to others," she added. "This new science is worrisome and unfortunately warrants an update to our recommendation."

The federal government has been trying to get people to get the COVID vaccine. Those efforts have met a surprising (but maybe not) amount of resistance.

 

Along the way, the CDC reportedly paid the NFL Alumni Association $3.5 million to promote the COVID vaccine, according to TMZ.

That is disingenuous.  The current incidence of breakthru cases are 1/20th of the unvaxxed, in theory per the data.

That is true - When I go in for my colonoscopy (ick, ouch!) if I'm vaxxed, I do not need a test.  If I'm a dirty unvaxxed, I will need a test.  Ct count unknown.

 

Do this everywhere and you'd probably get half way to the case numbers claimed.  The unvaxxed definitely have the deck stacked against them.  The other half is probably the vax doing it's job.

why get the vaccine  when you have natural immunity, that actually works against all Covid- including Delta

Lamar Jackson recently tested positive for COVID-19, and that means the star quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens is in the midst of a 10-day quarantine, right in the middle of training camp. Why is it 10 days? Well, unvaccinated players who test positive for the virus have to sit out longer than vaccinated players do.

 

In other words, the NFL has implemented protocols that put pressure on players to get the vaccine.

 

With that news, Jackson is feeling pressure from several directions. The league, part of the community, and now even state politicians are taking it upon themselves to urge the Louisville product to get vaccinated.

 

If anyone has built up some natural immunity to the virus, it’s probably Jackson. He’s already had to miss the time, so he might have even less of an incentive to get vaccinated. Unfortunately, the external pressure to get the vaccine will probably continue.
