Punter-turned-tight end Zach Davidson is one of Bills' intriguing underdogs

Buffalo Bills tight end Zach Davidson caught a total of four passes in two seasons of varsity football for Webb City High School in Missouri.

He had no catches during his first two years of college at Division II Central Missouri.

The fact he has hung onto a job in the NFL for three years and now is in his fourth NFL training camp is one of the more unlikely underdog stories of any of the 91 Bills players working at St. John Fisher University.

“You realize how lucky you are,” Davidson said after a recent camp practice. “I think they make you aware as soon as we start OTAs and training camp. There’s millions of other guys who would like to be in our positions. So it’s about being really grateful and seizing the opportunity.”

Well, he might be able to punt if Sam Martin goes down.  How many special teams guys can say that?

Without a great WR group defenses are probably keying on him making his catches more difficult.
