I agree. He makes the 53 or another team signs him unless he’s terrible preseason game 3.

Perhaps.  Stillers could be very interested in him having seen him practice for nearly a full week and having so much game film on him.

Will anybody else though consider adding an UDFA from a middling MAC program playing with the adrenaline that comes from playing for his childhood favorite team to their 53 man roster?  There's always guys that look like preseason superstars that end up a a PS or bagging groceries by the time September is in full swing.

Joe Andreesen has shown better football intuition in 2 preseason games than Onalim has in six seasons.  He likely ends up on the practice squad but that was an IMPRESSIVE performance regardless of the game's meaning.

He's got a ways to go before he catches up to Edmunds in that all-important OBF DAB POMA Quantum HUALA* metric.

So do we run 3 LBs when Milano comes back? I think we have to...it'd be a shame to have to sit Bernard at this point.

Wife just asked an interesting question:

Anyone heard how Joe Andreessen jerseys are selling?

I wouldn't imagine many were produced before he made the final 53. Now they're probably making them, but until they get to the distributors, and then the online sources and retail stores, it's most likely a custom-order jersey.

The name plate should just say "Buffalo Joe".

So not quite your take, but if Milano was healthy I was wondering if we would see more 4-3 with the talent Buffalo has at LB and the thinner DB situation.

Would probably come down to whether the coaches believe Williams can be effective in coverage well enough to take Taran Johnson off the field.  (Either him or one of the safeties would be the presumed guy coming off the field.)

Personally, with Johnson being so good at what he does, can't see them taking him off the field and can't see the coaches effectively moving Milano back to his old college position.

For true rushing downs, don't they normally bring an extra lineman in rather than an extra LB?

It's a great question though.  Hoping we get to find out the answer late November or early December.

Why would Dorian be in coverage? It should be Andreesen. Ideally you would see Andreesen at MLB and Milano and Bernard flanking him on either side.

Why?  Because until Andreessen or somebody else beats out Williams, Williams is going to be lining up next to Bernard.  Can see somebody beating him out for the starter's spot; but until someone does, he's still at the top of the depth chart.

Andreesen did beat out Dorian.

No he didn’t.

He’s listed as the last LB on the depth chart.

The fact that he *even made the team* is what makes his story so compelling. He’s likely the 53rd man on the roster, and probably won’t make the game day 48 a host of times this year if the current unit stays healthy.
